چکیده
The case of a 42-year-old woman with leiomyosarcoma of the kidney, a very rare renal lesion, is presented. Leiomyosarcomas are the most common of the primary renal sarcomas which account for less than 1% of renal tumours in adults.

Primary Leiomyosarcoma of the Kidney : A Case Report and Review of Literature
Primary sarcomas of the kidney are exceptional. Among renal sarcomas, leiomyosarcoma is the most common histologic subtype amounting to 50-60% of all cases. The tumor usually arises from either the renal capsule or smooth muscle tissue in the renal pelvic wall. In this paper, we report a patient with leiomyosarcoma of the kidney presented with non-specific abdominal pain and a palpable mass....
متن کاملRecurrent Renal Leiomyosarcoma Mimicking a Colonic Submucosal Tumor: A Case Report
A primary leiomyosarcoma of the kidney is a rare, but highly aggressive, neoplasm, accounting for only 0.1% of all invasive renal tumors. Local or systemic recurrence is common, but a leiomyosarcoma is difficult to diagnose preoperatively. We recently encountered an interesting case of an unusual recurrence of a renal leiomyosarcoma. A 57-year-old woman visited our hospital complaining of lower...
متن کاملLeiomyosarcoma Arising from the Blind End of a Bifid Renal Pelvis
Sarcoma of the kidney is a rare condition. Leiomyosarcoma is the most common of the kidney sarcomas. Renal leiomyosarcoma usually originates from the smooth muscle layers of the kidney, for example, the renal capsule and renal vessels. Renal pelvis neoplasms, however, are primarily transitional cell carcinomas, and renal pelvis leiomyosarcomas are extremely uncommon. Renal pelvis leiomyosarcoma...
متن کاملAn unusual clinical presentation of a rare renal tumour.
We report an unusual clinical presentation of renal leiomyosarcoma. A woman, who received renal transplant from her mother, was diagnosed to have leiomyosarcoma in the donated kidney. The mother was found to have a right upper lobe lung mass 10 years later, which was diagnosed as leiomyosarcoma. It is possible that the mother had primary leiomyosarcoma of the donated kidney with micrometastases...
متن کامل[Primary leiomyosarcoma of the kidney. A case report].
Primary sarcomas of the kidney are exceptional, representing 1 to 3% of all renal tumours in adults. They have a poor prognosis. The authors report a case of primary leiomyosarcoma of the kidney in a 44-year old patient, presenting in the form of low back pain and haematuria. Treatment consisted of radical nephrectomy. Two months later, the patient presented with hepatic metastases. The patient...
